I’m speaking on a panel from 3:30-4:45 pm called “Improvising the Social: Representation, Community, and Identity.” My presentation is called “Community as a site of Jazz Pedagogy: Exploring Toronto’s Jam Sessions from 1956-1962.” All of this is for the 2006 Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquium “Sounds of Hope, Sounds of Change: Improvisation, Pedagogy, Imagination” and takes place at the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre in Guelph.
